The Strata Recipe (What Diane brought for breakfast on Tuesday)
1 loaf of good french bread, cut into 1" cubes
12 eggs, beaten with
2 cups milk (I used whole)
1 red onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 bunch chard, chopped
butter
1 cup shredded cheese (whatever kind you like best)
Place the cubed bread in a large buttered baking pan. Saute the onion and peppers. When they are done, add the chard until it wilts. Pour egg/milk mixture onto the bread. Spread the veggies evenly over the top. Top with the cheese. If you have time, refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
